This morning

Some of the hardest things to witness as a creator is to see your characters get swept by the story and forget there's so much more to each moment than what they lay it out to be. Sam has been very busy over the last couple of days, finishing work, getting ready for vacation, packing, long drive and now he's at his family vacation and his heart has been aching to talk to me but somehow we have not been able to have our time and I have not been able to tell him what each day had but that's okay he's here now.

There's a lot going through Sam's mind. He's finding himself in the constant struggle with work, ministry, life, family, future...it's almost like every time he lays one to rest the other comes back up. Now all of this is in his mind and he is learning to let people in to that. He's learning to let me in to that, we're not there yet. He is yet to trust me fully for some of these, of course I don't tell him what I am going to do, I just let him know it's going to be okay.

There was a pause from Sam this morning. It was almost like he saw me and got a little excited before he got distracted with the text message that came from his boss, off drifted his mind. Waves of accusation from him came in, almost like they were already on their way to land without a moment of delay from when Sam finished reading the text, giving him no room to seek my thoughts. I did speak but my voice was not heard. I tried to remind him of what he read this morning, "There was morning and evening, that was the first day", I told him there is beginning and there will be an end. When that end comes I'll be waiting at the end of the story and I want to see your happy face running towards my open arms...there he goes again, thoughts about what could replace this job with another.

Sam, listen to my call son, this is not the story I wanted to write, there's a lot more to this than what you see. I do not define you by your job, your income, your status in this world, all I look for is your heart and not the hearts of those you think you can win for me, remember no one can lead those astray to me but my voice. It is my love that will drive you and that will drive those that are away to me. I have many characters in this story and you've already met so many. Now, can you try to see me with them as you see me with you?
